Comments section and pagebreaks

I have a comments section (almost a minature messageboard i guess) on the right side of each article on my website. I would like to be able to insert a pagebreak after so many comments, that way it doesnt get make the page to long after so many comments. BTW, im using php 4.1.2 and MySQL (whatever the newest is) for the comments.
