php 4.1.2 / Apache,(31) error !!

Hi all ..
am trying to upgrade to my php to 4.1.2 , on Win Me/Apache, am sure i had done all the steps, but after runing i got this error !
what this 31 error ?

:Syntax error on line 777 of c:/phpdev/apache/conf/httpd.conf
Cannot load c:/phpdev/php/sapi/php4apache.dll into server: (31) A device attach
:d to the system is not functioning

If you use only Windows (and too bad for you if you do), then the direction of the slash may not make much of a difference to you.
In this case, I think it just may.

"c:/phpdev/php/sapi/php4apache.dll"

Try replacing every "/" with "\". This just may work. It prolly accounts for the "A device attach to the system is not functioning" error. Give it a try and let me know.

as i saw in the php.ini and http.conf all slashes is \
!

this part of install.txt which is came with zip file :

To do this, you should move php4ts.dll to the windows/system (for Windows 9x/Me)
or winnt/system32 (for Windows NT/2000/XP) directory, overwriting any
older file. Then you should add the following three lines to your Apache
conf file: (swap c:/php/ for your PHP install path)

LoadModule php4_module c:/php/sapi/php4apache.dll
AddModule mod_php4.c
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

If you wish to install PHP as a CGI binary, (the sapi is much better)
you need to enable the apache security fix in your php.ini by
setting cgi.force_redirect = 1. Then, insert these lines to your conf file:

As long as all the paths are correct (did you double check this?), then it all looks like it should work.

However, the error you were seeing seems related to an "attached device"? I would gather that to mean something like a drive right? It's hard to say not being in front of your system, but this seems the root of your problem.
