Hosting / os Question

Hello, I was hoping someone could help me here. I have been developing a db site on nt5.1, php4.1.1, mysql,apache 1.3 and have been looking to host my site(s) at www.noxraq.com which is running redhat linux with apache.

My question is, is there anything i should be aware of in this transition between operating systems, should it all still work the same or is there some fundamental differences with regards to the code???? or is it just mearly trial and error?

There are some differences, but I think the best way to check is to upload everything to your new server and just try it 🙂

I think the differences you will experience are with the way the sysadmins have PHP setup. For instance, your host may have magic quotes turned on, and when you move to the new server, you may find that they are turned off.

I would run phpinfo() on both and compare them. Try to see any differences in the configuration of each.
