Hello.

Can someone tell me the diferences between "normal" Regular Expressions and Perl Compatible Regular Expressions ?

Or point me out to some reference where I can read that.

If by "normal regular expressions" you mean the ereg_*() functions, then there only difference that I know of is the syntax. The only difference is that people like me, that come from a Perl background, don't want to learn a new syntax for regular expressions; it's easier to just use the one that we already know. So we use the preg() functions. There's also a note in http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.ereg.php that preg_match() is often faster than ereg().

Actually my doubt is about THOSE sintax diferences between "normal" Regex and PCRE.
