insert chars into an array / string

i have a submit button....lets say sometimes types in outlook climate into the text box.

i want to convert this to

%outlook% OR %climate%

how do i do this? I can use explode,implode to get outlook OR climate, but i'm not sure how to insert the % before each word

You mean before and after.

But what's the point of doing that? you can't stick it in a query like that anyway.

in a query you'll need
SELECT *
FROM table
WHERE field LIKE '%outlook'%
OR field LIKE '%climate%'

which means you'll have to look through the words after exploding, and print the % signs before and after each word.

A forum, a FAQ, email notification, what else do you need?
