Flatfile Database

Lo, i am creating a portal that will use flat file databases for the people who cant use mysql or dont no how to.

i no how to do flat file files but i was wondering if this is possible

i want members to be able to sign up, but instad of using one file to save to i want it to create one for each user.

but i also want the user to be able to login and to save settings like pass so i need to know how to get it to do both i can get it to read and write to one file but not both is there a way to do this

I'm not sure i understand your question fully. Are you asking if you can open a file and read and write using the same file pointer?

a user signup
it useually save to one file users.php
i want it to save to save to [usernamehere].php
so that when the user logs in it will save to there own file and not to users.php i also want to know when the user want to login how i can get an authentication system to find the flatfile then login???

Well when a new user signs in you can just have it write to their own file (however you may want to account for special characters... like spaces and what not).. This design may not be the best of choice but you could just collect their information and open the file like
$fp = fopen($username.'.php', 'w+');

or something.

I think that a little better design would be to have one flat file (index file) hold the information linking a username to a number or some sort of ID and then have the data filename identified by a number ie: 1.php would correspond to user #1 or something.
