retaining form values when printing

Good Morning,
I am setting up a form and what I need to have happen is for people to fill in the form online and than print off the form with the filled in values intact. I know <? php echo field name retains the value for display but I loose it when printing. I do not need to submit the form to the server to update files or email it only print.
Background-The form is a quiz that will be filled in and than printed off for a supervisor's signature.

Is there a way to do this?

A few questions:

1) how are your users printing the form i.e. javascript or the browsers print function?

2) is the page being refreshed or submitted to another file (i know you're not saving the file or emailing it).
