I wish to get XML data from Nasdaq's quote service, but when I try to fopen() the url, I get a transport endpoint error, yet upon entering the url in a browser, i get the xml file with no problems
$file = "http://quotes.nasdaq.com/Quote.dll?page=xml&mode=stock&symbol=ibm&symbol=CSCO&symbol=msft&symbol=orcl&symbol=appl&symbol=ebay&symbol=YHOO&symbol=intc&symbol=amd&symbol=adbe&symbol=macr&symbol=aol&symbol=MU&symbol=CHTR&symbol=ADLAE&symbol=PCS&symbol=T&symbol=CPQ&symbol=HWP&symbol=DELL&symbol=MOT&symbol=ATVI&symbol=SNE";
$fp = fopen($file, 'r')
Try $dom = xmldocfile("your url"); and use the domxml functions. This works great for me.
