I have a query but when i am running i am not getting the result.

if (($option1 == "") && ($option2 == "") && ($option3 == "")) { $mode = 'PHONE'; $mode1 = 'option4'; }
echo "<p> SELECT * FROM abc WHERE $mode LIKE '$mode1%' </p>\n";

uhm... and what do you except us to do with just a query?

echo prints it out right?

so, i think you need to do

$query1 = "SELECT * FROM abc WHERE $mode LIKE '$mode1%'";

$query = mysql_query($query1);

echo("<p> $query </p>\n");

I think that should be right...
