$http_referer

I have a question about the $http_referer option. I have a php page. aptly named 400, 401, 403, 404, 500.php which are my servers ErrorDocuments

each one emails me when they are accessed,
and in the email it should be posting the $http_referer but it doesnt always post it.

is there a reason why sometimes it gives a url like
http://www.blah.com/blah.html
and others it's just blank???
does frames trow it off?

frames might throw it off or it could be that the user didn't go to the page before that ie: they just opened their browser and typed in a bad link to your server since it wasn't linked from another page it wouldn't have a referer

ok, so probably it's not on my end. I was wondering.. I will probably make a
if $HTTP_REFERER=""
$ref = "unknown" so I at least have something to look at.
