Problem with PDFs

I am storing my pdf's in a mysql database. When i want to display the pdf by clicking on a link i have to click twice on 'Open this file from its current location'. It first tells me that i have chosen to download the file from the php page ie. download.php and then i click again and it now gives me the name pdf name ie. test.pdf.
I have no problems with displaying images.

I was looking at my phpinfo.php page and my HTTP Headers Information Section had the following information

HTTP Request GET /phpinfo.php HTTP/1.1
Accept image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, application/msword, application/vnd.ms-excel, /

Accept-Encoding gzip, deflate

Accept-Language en-ie
Connection Keep-Alive

Should i put text 'application/pdf ' in the HTTP Request section?

This sounds to me like an issue with the headers you are sending the client.

Try this before any other page output:

header("Content-type: application/pdf");
header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=downloaded.pdf");

/ ... output pdf file ... /

I am using this header

The Accept, Accept-Encoding and Accept-Language headers are part of the request sent by the browser. In fact, the whole request is browser-generated.

So should i have application/pdf in the accept section to remedie this problem

Not in the accept: section. Like I said, taht comes from the browser making the request.

If you're sending a PDF document in response to a request, you need to say so in the headers you send:

header('Content-Type: application/pdf');

There are one or two others you can send to fine-tune things like file names and such, but they escape me at the moment.
