Remote Client time

Hi,
I am using sessions to authorize and carry variables while the client is connected to our systems.

The problem is when the clients time is set much before the time of the server.
What happens then is, the session is actually expired, before they even login.

When we ship software solutions, the hardware configuration is left to the user, and he could easily overlook setting the time on the server... or the user could be ignorant to setting their time correctly...

DOES anyone know how I could (from the webserver) retreive the clients machine time?

Im not sure what your doing, but php always uses the server-side time. So even if its wrong, the session will still time-out correctly if I understand what you are saying. Never are there server to client comparisions for time.

Ok,perhaps you are correct...
but then how can you explain this behavior.

If I set the server date to 2001. and I login on a client with is set to 2002... my session automatically expires...
If I now set the date of the client machine to 2001... everything works fine...

I am having a hard time ruling out any client/server time comparaisons...

SO, does anyone know of a way to get the time of the client?
