Obtaining IPs with php?

Greetings, I am installing some forms on my site and I need something (preferably php) that will send me the submitter's IP along with the rest of the things they submitted with the form. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

the $REMOTE_ADDR contains the user's IP address. Note that many free providers mask the IP as part of their security plan.

Many providers of any sort pass requests through a proxy server. It's a standard security precaution.

And unfortunately that means you can't be sure whether it is the visitor's IP or not ?

Yep. 'fraid so. The proxy server knows who's who but it's not about to tell anyone else.

It's an extension of the firewall concept - there could be a whole bunch of machines on a local network, but from outside they all appear as a single IP, with the firewall keeping track of which requests are intended for which local machines.

A whois lookup on your IP - 62.248.24.115 - gives me it's held by a cable network outfit by the name of TOPAZNET.
