i am trying to PARSE XML data through PHP. Somehow in the middle of the XML document, a single character data string is getting five line returns added to the middle of it. so the string that appears in textpad as "modern_moo" appears in the XML output as "modern\n\n\n\n_moo" which is terrible. I tried it with 2 different XML reader/parsing techniques to similar results. So I decided it's the datafile, not the engine.
It happens only once in this 16000 line document, and in the same place everytime, regardless of what data is there. The only way that I was able to kill the line returns was to kill all \n's and \t's and then put them back in using regexp replace in textpad.. why did that work?
I have already ordered them to use SimpleText in the future, but does anybody know what the hell this is? Is this MICROSOFT or APPLE ruining my life? I figgure its gotta be one or da the other.
peace, love and crackiness..
