Protected Directory

Hi - my ISP is using htaccess to protect directories on my account. When a user enters a name in the username portion of the popup auth. box, does it assign a variable to that name that I can recall what they entered?

Basically, is there anyway I can capture what is entered in the username slot so that I can customize the member page?

The variables "$PHP_AUTH_USER" and "$PHP_AUTH_PW"
will hold the username and the password
of the authenticated user!
