I need a script for a login.

I need a few scripted pages in PHP for my members only pages on my website www.finalfantasyplanet.co.uk. I have built the login form, but need a PHP page that takes this information, puts it against information in a mysql database, and then sends them to the homepage. When they are here, everypage they go on will have "Welcome (Username)". But i don't know how to create this.

Also when they goto pages that need membership, i need it to

A) if they are not logged in send them to the login page

I'm pretty new to PHP scripting, so i don't know an awful lot about it, but i need this login form.

The first thing you should look for when starting to work with a new language is places to get code to learn from, and to use.

There are at least a dozen authentication scripts just on the PHPBuilder site. Check them out first.

Then look at Julie Meloni's site (look it up; I don't remember the domain right now). She has code samples from her book that do pretty much what you want.
