I am trying to create an FTP download section to a website. I have created a log in process and can view the directory and files OK. I have created hotlinks and can use ftp_get to download (move) the files from the FTP area to the Web server. What I want to do is have the user download the files to their hard drive. I just can't get it to happen. Can anybody please help? It seems to be the route to the users hard drive I can't create!

Or, alternatively, if you do not want to pass off the username & password of the FTP you are browsing, you could technically download the file from the FTP to the webserver and pass a temporary URL to the client. You could also theoretically automatically schedule a CRON job to delete the file after X amount of time... =P

I'm going with Bastien's suggestion as we are presently using an anonymous login and I've hidden the route with a status message.
However is it possible to send the mime type to the header from the hotlink. If so how?
