hi,
actually i have a table with fields(itemno,description,qty,curstk)
and i want to populate drop down menus with item numbers using the query.and when i will make selection from drop down menus all other fields description,qty etc. should be displayed.
i want all this in tabular form i mean first column will be of drop down menus ,next will be of description and next one will be of qty.second third columns should be blank when there is no selection and as we make selection in a row all other values should be displayed in cells of that row corresponding to that itemno.

I'm not sure what you are asking us to help you with?? Is it to create the pull down menu? or to create the tabular format.

From the looks of it you want to create a pulldown menu that is populated from a database and then when a user selects the option from the pulldown menu it will automatically display the information for that item. For that however you need to use java script. I don't think there is a way of automatically making the selection and firing an event using php.
