Session Var in file but no Values

I have PHP 4.02 I believe and windows 2000 I have 7 pages; each one collects form data and stores it in a session var. The session is writing the var to the file but not the value. What is going on? I can see the value in the URL? Well I am sure that it is simple, thanks a bunch to the helper.

By the way the reason that I am using 4.02 is because it is the only compiled version of PHP with GD lib in it, is their a more recent version of PHP with GD lib in it for windows?

FYI: The Windows download of 4.2 from www.php.net has the current version of GD in it.

Session control is handled in php.ini. In particular have a look at session.save_path as this needs to be adjusted for Windows.
