Passing Variables Between Pages

I am attempting to pass a variable from one .php page to another with the following logic:

<A HREF="./pagename.php?disp=News Title"> this is the link that i use to pass to the 'pagename.php' page.

The pagename.php page code is this:

echo $disp;
?>

Can someone tell me what the heck is wrong here? I am (unfortunately) running on WinNT with IIS4. Is that the problem. I used a Windows Installer from php.net. I get this error on my page:

Notice: Undefined variable: disp in D:\Data\Home\Dev\pagename.php on line 45

Check your c:\windows\php.ini file for register_globals and make sure it's set to 'On'. PHP 4.2 defines this as Off by default.

If I cut and paste your code into a file on my IIS, it works, but because there's a space and no quotes around the value, I only get the first word of it... Maybe surround it with quotes?

Dont you need somthing like this:

I am not really sure which one should be used tho.
