assign 2 variables in link

I know how to have somebody click a link and load the new page with a variable set:
echo "<a href=\"newpage.php?a=1\">New Page</a>";

simple...but how do you make it where two variables are set, say I want (a=1) AND (b=2) at the same time? I'm sure it's in the manual somewhere but I be darned if I can find it.

just use the & sign to join them, like this:

<a href="link.php?var1=aaa&var2=bbb">Link</a>
