Header,Footer,& eternal session problem

Hello,

I know that we should read and search a lot before sending questions to the forums, and be sure that I always do this here (my preferred php site and in manuals and other sites.
Okay, to be short, It seems that as much as I read, greater the confusion is and after trying to put things working, the result is always the same (I think that many newbies have this problem) - "Cannot send headers, cannot send session cache limiter, cannot, cannot, cannot...
Here is the problem, that after solving it I'm thinking on making some simple examples to post here every time this question is posted:
1st. I have a website that would have the same header and footer for all "inside" content pages.
2nd. After the user registration, and using session start or other methods, the result is the same, errors and errors.

Questions:
- Whats wrong (besides white spaces?
- Should I include or not the "include("header.php"); and ("footer.php"); ?
- Best practices for this kind of page structure and session handling?

A good help and explanation here will be apreciated and I'm sure that after puting this to work, I will "specialize on this subject" to help other newbies ! 😉

First question: Any output (not just whitespace) finishes the header.

Second question: If you want to include the files, you have to include them somehow!

Third question: Any page that uses sessions, should make starting the session it's first priority. Probably something like:

-----page.php-----
<?php
session_start();
...any other page-specific preparation
include('header.php');
....body...
include('footer.php');
