checking if file exist...

I'm trying to write simple gallery- generator.

Informations about files are in .txt files:

th_image12.jpg,14kb
th_image13.jpg,26kb

This thumbnails files are in different servers, so my script take name of the file and build URL with this file in.

Is there any way to chceck if thumbnail image file EXIST on server?

bool file_exists (string filename)
works for local files
For remote files read the manual features.remote-files.html
From there:
