What does "binary file uploads" mean ?

Hello, I was reading an article about PHP that said, "Its open source features allows binary file uploads and retrieval a lot easier."

What does that mean ?

sorry, but i got a kick out of how the file was called "php.asp" .. isn't it ironic, doncha think? ;o)

but seriously: what the article was talking about was that with ASP, file uploading/retrieval has to be handled by something -other- than ASP. with php, it's handled internally (for the most part 🙂
