sorting a list in a file

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to sort a list of names that are in a file.

The names are 1 on each line

eg.
Leedham, Bryce
Lastname, Firstname

etc..

Basically I need to take the names out of the file, put them in alphabetical order and then chuck them back in.

Can anyone help?

I tried that, it didn't work.....

I know I need sort() and to rad and write to the file but I can't get it to work

can't you use a db? everything get's so much easier!
