Ok this is a difficult one... I am not experienced with PHP but I have PHP pages on my site and I am pretty sure PHP is powerful enough to let me accomplish this...
Let's get to the code:
Is there ANY way to specify a variable as an url and then call that url from within an <a href=""> link so that if one day I want to change the base location of the files I don't have to change all the links in the site?
To be more specific basically consider that I would like to set variable A to an url such as http://www.remote-url.com/images and then I would like to be able to call pictures from within that remote server's folder on my site with a code like this:
<a href="A/mypic1.jpg" or whatever...
This is just an example, I know the code would look different... I don't know where to start from and I hope that one of you big shots out there can help me out here ;-)
I also would like the variable to reside in an external file (such as an include) so that I can change the remote url of ALL the pictures in my site by just changing ONE file!
I am doing this because I am running out of space on my paid hosting provider. I could free up some space by moving big images to some free server somewhere but because these free webspaces keep turning non-free after some time I'm looking for a way to be able to change just one base url somewhere on my site that lets me recall files from another server...
Can you help?
I will be forever greatful!!!
Thanks!!!
Marc
