How to know when a visitor disconnects ?

hi,

i explain the problem : when someone is logged, he can disconnect and i save disconnection time,

but if he kills the browser or else, how do i know when he disconnects ?

is there any variable to know it?

Due to HTML being a stateless, passive connection, you have no way of knowing when a user disconnects. If you're trying to do a "who's online" type deal, just keep track of who's been on in the last 10 minutes or so. There's really no way to detect when a browser session is killed.
