Timed image changes

I would like to set up a page with an indication of what is actually on at a certin time in my work place... ie i work at a school and for internal paroses need to know what period it is or class. id like to be able to set up a page with a script that shows a gif or jpg image stating period 1 during the time of say 8:25 to 9:25 and then period 2 from 9:25 to 10:25 and so on is it possible to do such a thing, please for give me for my lack of knowlage only just starting out in php and would like to use
it...

look up case and switch in the php manual

also, check out the time variable for comparison.

general idea,

for case 1,

time between 8:26 to 9:25, show image a

for case 2,

time between 9:26 to 10:25, show image b

and so on.

so from what i can see the switch and case in the manual are equiverlant to that of else and if statments in other laguages though would process faster due to it only having to run one part of the statment not the holl statment is that correct???

thanks for the addvise i will try and work out how to write a script now
