preg_match leftover

Hi,

Im trying to figure out preg_match. I need to get the found part and the left over part:

$check = "text001"

preg_match("/text/", $check, $huh);

echo $huh[0]."<br>";
echo $huh[1]."<br>";

prints:

text

Where did my "001" go? Shouldn't it be in $huh[1]?

if you do
preg_match("/(text)(.*)/", $check, $huh);
This will work i think
the array huh is created from the number of brackets
