here goes... I just learned how to send information through a url to another page by doing http://www.blabla.com/recipes.php?animal=chicken now how do i pull what animal equals and place it into a query. I know this is a simple answer but I cant find any tutorials on it online. Thanks for your time. Sincerely John
recipes.php will have a variable called "$animal" with a value of "chicken" set automatically. I'm a complete newbie but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Hope this helps.
On your new page $animal is a variable containing "chicken". It is created automatically when the page parses URL.
You just say something like
$sql = 'select * from recipes where id="'.$animal.'"'
Any good recipes to offer? 🙂
if register_globals is ON: $animal = 'chicken'
if register_globals is OFF: $_GET['animal'] = 'chicken'
