im writing a link verifier script which chcks ftp, http and both services can run on different ports, does anyone know how to check what port a host is running on.
Well the only thing I can think of is to use some kind of portscan to detect what services runs on which ports. If you are gonna scan your own host(s) its ok but to scan other host(s) is illegal.
