Not wait for a function to finish...

Hi everyone, I am wondering how to not wait for a function (or a while loop or other time consuming thing) to finish before sending data to the client. The reason that I need todo this is because the forum that I am creating has a notification by email thingy, and when it gets to lets say over 100 mails, the client is waiting forever at the end of a post. But that should be handled on the server alone, and the client shouldn't wait for that!

How do I accomplish this?

the easiest way would be to just send your output to the browser before calling your email function.

Okay, but all it is is a header (And ob_gzip is on). I use exit(); directly after the mail function and header() is directly before the mail function (while loop).

I'll test it out though.
