Sessions until you quit?

Heya,

I'm running a site with php sessions - and I thought that sessions stayed alive until the browser quit. But after writing extensivly in a form and then submitting - only to be countered with errors because the session had been killed I'm starting to wonder...

Can this be a limit somewhere?

How "extensively" did you write? I believe sessions also expire with time...
