Timout on scripts

Hi everyone,

I have created a script which will take a long long time to run - possibly 4-5 minutes. I have seen on some sites how when you do a "search" (for example) it takes you through to a new page with a "searching.... please wait" and then when the search has completed it takes you to another page to display the results. How does this work? Anyone who has had a similar experience (as my script keeps timing out in the browser) and can give me some pointers, I'd really appreciate it

He doesn't mean this. I think. He means how to show <B>"PLEASE WAITING, LOADING..."</B>, like in a flash movie.

Thanks for the replies. You are right that I want something a little more than that 🙂 .... Let me try to explain:

User types in their search term into a form field and clicks submit
This takes them to a next page with "searching, please wait...."
Once the search has completed, which could take some time, the results are then displayed.

I've seen this on some sites, but haven't any idea how it works. Has anyone actually done this?
