display "searching..." and then results

Here is what I want to do....

1. User types in their search term into a form field and clicks submit

2. This takes them to a next page with "searching, please wait...."

3. Once the search has completed, which could take some time, the results are then displayed.

I've seen this on some sites, but haven't any idea how it works. My script takes a long time to execute and often times out (I know how to handle this though now). Has anyone actually done what I'm trying to do and if so could you point me in the right direction?

Have you ever tried Flush() ??

yes, I know about this, but it's not the same thing. I actually want to go through to the next page with a flashing "searching" and then take the person to the results after this
