I have been working on a new project for some time now. My Question isnt really much of a coding issue.
Im trying to find a way to try to locate what region,state or city a user is coming from.
I was wondering if there was a database of known ip's and domains and their geographical locations,
I can do a reverse lookup and get either their ip or domain, but sorta lost where to go from there.. ideas?
also Im working on a spider [user agent] management system where I can view the spiders coming to my site, and choose whether to block or allow them to the site. IM thinking of either using or updateing the robots.txt or modifining the .htaccess file to use a rewrite condition to ban bad spiders.. suggestions?
