last modification of other pages

Hey,

I got weird question since i been reading forum and manual and cant find it (maybe just looking over it) but here is the deal,

Im making a link page, and the idea is to check each link and get the last modification date from it so I can remove pages that havent been updated for like 3-4 weeks..

u guys got any idea.. I tried filemtime, stat and some more, please help me if u know

here's something that I use:

function mod_date($file) {
$mod=filemtime($file);
$formatted_date=date(" [n/j/y]", $mod);
return ("<SPAN style='background-color:navy; color:white; font-size=9px'>".$formatted_date."</SPAN>");
}

print (mod_date("myfile.php"));

Nope sorry didnt work.... Im still getting 1/1 ase result.... but didnt u use the function to get last mod of local file.. I need the last mod. date of like http://www.phpbuilder.com/
