Java and PHP ???

Why i can't run a applet java over a TPL page ??

I have a applet called Touchup.jar that give some great tool to zoom etc .

If i put under a htm ok he run , but when i put under a tpl page he don't why ??

Tjis is the applet call :

<PARAM NAME="image" VALUE="{picture_name}">
</APPLET>

The {picture_name} it's a value that my php pass to the tpl with the correct name of picture .

I put the jar under the same directory of the tpl and also try to put under the php too .
Nothing happends ..

Is this even about PHP?
TPL pages and HTML code to run Java is all I can see, anyways, try these things...

1. Try simplyfying the applet down to its simplest terms.
   <applet code="Touchup.class">
   </applet>

2. Then try making Touchup.class touchup.class, small characters work best for names

3. <PARAM NAME = "name" VALUE "<?echo$value">
   Isn't that the way to pass in a variable? Whats {value} meant to do. It at least needs the $, does it?
