XML - Node Manipulation

Hello,

I have searched multiple forums regarding the manipulation of XML nodes. I have found that there are plenty of tutorials/demonstrations/script examples that will parse XML data.... However, I am looking to actually manipulate the XML data - in the file. I realize that the DOM_XML class has functions for this, however this class is listed as 'experimental', and therefore is not supported with my preferred web hosting company.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
