Hi Phillip,
There is one way to incorporate SMS on the web. I am currently leave in Karnataka(Southern India) and using AirTel Mobile Connection. My mobile service provider has given an option of reciving mails directly to mobile throug email has SMS.
To put it in simple words, my mobile number is 98450 66236, and the country code is 91. All I have to do is build a simple form with form action "mailto:919845066236@airtelkk.com". A sample code below will help you understand, all you need to do is call up to your service provider and ask for the mail client that you can add after "@" symbole.
<body>
<form action="mailto:919845066236@airtel.com">
<table><tr><td valign=top>Enter the message</td><td><textarea cols=40 rows=3 name=msg></td></tr></table>
</form>
</body>
You will find a problem if you system is not configured to OutLook or any such mail server, to over come this problem you can make use of PHP Function mail()
