quick pop up question

I've been looking for the code to create a pop up that will appear before original page has finished loading. I have a site that involves uploading files, and validating the data, so I need a pop up that appears when a page might possibly have nothing but blank space because validation is being checked. Any suggestions ??

Just pass variables in the url and access them in the test.php page via $_GET["var1"] and so forth. You can validate on the test.php page and if the variables are good, redirect to another page...
