MySQL Update

I'm trying to edit news/pages.

I want to know howto edit news specificly, if they're in a database.

I don't know how I would go about updating them.

What? Do I add a randon number to each post,
(how would i do that?)

I have no idea where to start.

Well, when you put in the posts in the database you should have an ID-field that gives the post a number (you just make it auto-increment, not random numbers) When updating you do the query:

mysql_query("UPDATE your_fields FROM your_table WHERE id=$id");
