How to form POST and capture output

Is it possible to POST to a form using a PHP script and capture the HTML output? Does anyone know how this can be done?

I have one more problem. The "PostIt" function from this web site <a href='http://www.zend.com/codex.php?id=77&single=1'>http://www.zend.com/codex.php?id=77&single=1</a> doesn't work for https POST headers.

Does anyone know how to POST to an HTTPS protected form using a PHP script?

ah that's a tricky one, I just had to solve this myself. the answer is the cURL library, something that has to be compiled into PHP.

it may be hell getting your sysadmin to do the install (it was for me, and i know if you're on a managing hosting plan, good luck), BUT the good news is, the cURL library totally rocks and works like a charm.
