find the name of a form field

can anyone tell me the way to find the name of any single field in a form in get or post method?

Well, what do you mean? You can't find something unless you know something about the field...what do you know about the field you're looking for?

well, i've a generic form with any kind of field, i must know the name of field to put the exact corrispondance of the field in a database table.
this allow me to make some forms using only one file for insert data in database.
i think to use one key field to identify the table to work and associate the corrispondance name of form-field to his corrispondance database-field.
understand my needs?

Then just do a foreach() loop on the $POST or $GET variables.

yes, but this is too unconmfortable if you think to add or remove some fields and if you want put field in a different order then database, are you sure that there is no function to list the name of fields on a form?

array_keys($POST) or array_keys($GET) will return an array containing the names of all the form elements (including things like the submit button).

But the database shouldn't care what order you insert items in.
