I'm using a script I picked up to hide my email addresses from the world but to provide clickable links.

after processing I end up with

header ("Location: mailto:$addr");

on my windows development pc when I click on the link a new email pops up and the browser content doesn't change.

but on production (my apache webhost) the browser shows the header code and then pops up the email and I'm left with a blank browser.

I've found in the past that the header tags which work at home don't work on the site but don't know how to tweak this one. Does anyone have any ideas?

first, I want to say it's a very
innovative idea I think !

I've try it on my own Apache server, and
it works perfectly (when I click on
the PHP script, I have the messenger
pop-up in my browser, with the
destination address already in place)

My Apache is a regular one, version 1.3.26
nothing special, straight out of the box.

I've try with success with Netscape
Communicator v 4.7x, and also with
MSIE 5.0

Have you try with different browsers and
from different places ? To determine if
the pb is coming from the server
configuration or the browser configuration
?

hmm you're talking about the behavior of the browser with the Location: header, one of the plainest headers around. ...hate to say it but I don't think you can change the results you're receiving. I'd love to be made wrong, though.

Oh poop. You're right, it works fine at work on ie5, in dev on ie5 but not on the ie6. What fun.

Herve - I'd love to take the credit but there's a script floating around called otliam.php (mailto.php backwards) and mine is an adaptation of that. In most of mine I've added a subject too.
