Sametime and PHP

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to send a message using php scripting to a samtime messanger?

I have looked on the sametime forums and it looks like it all has to be done on the NT machine however the application that I would like to send the message is on a linux box?

Any ideas?

I think you would have to make some kind of C, C++ interface using the Sametime API toolkit to do this.
