imagecreate() or imagecreatefrom() where is one of half a dozen file format names. A complete list in in the manual (Appendix I., under "gd").

do we need to install some kind of .dll for image*() functions?

because i am getting an error of "call to undefined function: imagecolorat()"

Just imagecolorat()? Does it complain about others if you take mention of imagecolorat() out?

In short, is gd_lib installed at all? (check phpinfo() for this - there'd be a section for gd if it is.

You should have the dll (under php\extensions) as php_gd.dll already. Note also you'll need extension=php_gd.dll in your php.ini (it's probably already there but commented out).

thanks mate! i did not check the extensions folder, cos i thought i didnt had the gd libraries.
