Making a column in MySQL for URLs

I am tring to finalize a script to allow a domain name to be hyperlinked in my database results. Any ideas?

pull the url out of the db as $url and then:
echo '<a href="' . $url . '">' . $url . '</a>';

Is there a way to make this URL open in a new window? I know that you can with HTML by using target="_blank" but not sure with PHP/MySQL.

I tried that before posting, an error occurs:

Parse error: parse error in /home/mastero4/public_html/verify2.php on line 132

Line 132 is where the added target line is at. Any suggestions? Here is the actual line for this:

print "<tr><td>Main URL  </td><td><a href=".$a_row['url']." target="_blank">".$a_row['url']." </a></td></tr>\n";

The extra spaces are meant to be there too.

you must escape the quotes:

print "<tr><td>Main URL </td><td><a href=".$a_row['url']." target=\"_blank\">".$a_row['url']." </a></td></tr>\n";

Thank you very much. Works great. Can I bother you on one last thing?

I have a lot of page includes in my HTML. They all work fine using the site as .html but only the header page includes works on the rest. Do I need to add the full URL on the link to the page includes do to running a .php extension?
