Sessions

OK, I am developing an online dating application that will require some type of session management for paid users.

For this type of functionality I usually build a database session manager, however this application will probably recieve 10000's of hits so I think I will need a robust solution that will not crash out when the traffic comes in.

I have been told about session management using temporary files, php sessions etc..

Any sugestions for session managemnt for high traffic sights?
