After having deleted an item out of the database.. there is a message "deleted successfully, click here to go on"

If I use the normal header("location ..."); it says that the headers are already sent, very normal..

Is there a way to show the message "deleted.." for a few seconds and then forwarding the page ??

You can use HTML meta tags: <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2;mypage.html">

Because of the nature of PHP, it can't do a thing once the page has loaded. It's called a hypertext PREprocessor for a reason. 🙂 It only affects what you see when the page loads, but once it loads you have to use other pieces of code if you want to have things happen dynamically. You could also code the redirection in JavaScript, but the meta refresh tag is your best bet, and is more compatible. I don't understand what's wrong with it, it'll do exactly what you want.
